Ancient Woodland (Ailao Gu Shu Pu'er) is a beautiful Black Tea (Hei Cha) from Ailao Mountains, Yunnan Province with a woodsy taste and a smooth, mellow mouthfeel.

Like all of our teas, we only source the "Grand Cru" version of Ancient Woodland (Ailao Gu Shu Pu'er) through our exclusive relationships with the most sought after tea farmers in China.

About Ancient Woodland

This tea is so different from your typical Pu'er. Unlike most Pu'er teas, you should feel a grounding or centering sensation while drinking it. While most Pu'er teas taste earthy, the ancient (gu shu) leaves give this tea a more woodsy flavor.

"Ancient Woodland" is also special because it is from the Ailao Mountain. This area is incredibly hard to get to, just ask the customers we took on a tea trip here! Therefore, fewer teas are sourced from here. Most importantly, the teas are produced by minority groups who apply very different processing methodologies than what you'd find in more popular locations.
